Feature Release - Community Creature Tags
Following the Creature Tag Overhaul for our official miniatures, we now have a release supporting tags for community creatures!
This release comes in two parts:
First, an update to TaleSpire which enables:
- Searching with tags through mod.io community creatures.
- Activating "strict" filter mode which hides all results that have no filter flags set. This will hide more unwanted content at the cost of also hiding more potentially wanted.
Note: Both of these will only start working once community content creators start uploading new minis/updating existing ones with the new tooling
BUILD-ID: 24293662 - Download Size: Win/Linux 7.1 MB / Mac OS 13.0 MB
The second part is an update to TaleWeaverLite. For this update we recommend downloading a fresh install of TaleWeaverLite (see the install guide for more info). Note that we also updated the Unity version to 2021.3.45f2!
The TaleWeaverLite release contains all of the necessary changes tagging your created miniatures for them to be easily searchable both on mod.io and when downloaded in-game.
You can do so using the tag questionnaire both in the normal editor, as well as in the bulk updater to add tags to your pre-existing minis in bulk.
Simply click on the "Add Tags" button to open it and go through the questionnaire to end up with a solid set of tags. If you feel there's some missing after that, feel free to add some more tags manually or even create your own!
Additionally, there has been a whole host of quality of life improvements and bug fixes:
- Add "model import settings" (accessible in the main toolbar under "TaleSpire"), allowing to import models without automatic scaling or positioning.
- Add support for mod.io's "community options", enabling to set the "Allow in Collections" flag from within TaleWeaverLite
- Improve some parts of the UI to be more legible and reactive to current state
- Reword the Metallic, AO, Roughness texture to Metallic, AO, Smoothness which is what it actually is. Also add a toggle to invert the smoothness channel to behave like roughness instead.
- Add support for retrying uploads to mod.io. The number of retries can be set in main toolbar under "TaleSpire/Publisher Settings/Upload Settings". This can be very helpful if you're on unstable network connections and have regular upload errors.
- Add support for slabs uploaded to mod.io in bulk updater. This doesn't allow editing the slab data, but does allow editing mod.io profile data like visibility, allow in collections flag, name, etc
- Add required metadata for a strict filter mode to work within TaleSpire
- Improve handling of loading a mod profile from URL to update mods previously uploaded without TaleWeaverLite
- Fix TaleWeaverLite failing to load and save anything on macOS and Linux
- Fix deselecting a 3D model after already having selected one before causing an error, failing to actually deselect it properly
- Fix content flag UI resetting when updating a creature from an older format to the newest, even though it did save correctly
- Fix grammar errors/typos on some UI texts
- Fix some occurrences of mismatched begin/end call errors in UI. This is usually a benign error but potentially confusing and definitely annoying
