TaleSpire Dev Log 278

Hi everyone!

For the last few days, I've been working on a new feature. It's still very WIP, but here is a quick video showing off the idea:

And here are a few points I forgot to mention in the video:

  • Currently, we are only planning this for props, not tiles or slabs
  • It might be neat to expose prop interactions (for example, open chest) as emotes, but that isn't planned for the initial version of this feature
  • Yes, this will be ideal for 'Animate Objects'. I totally forgot to mention that in this take :D
  • Emotes absolutely work with 'props as creatures'

I hope you dig the idea! More news on this soon.

Until then, seeya!

p.s. Surprised tree

Oh man, if they add any kind of arrow attack animation, the crossbows are gonna look great!
Love this!

Yass! Would be great with a bit more attack animations on this. Imagine mimic a chair. Flying through the bar, hit a player and then the chair shoots a fireball at the players. And bam! It was me all along! Harry Potter, the evil clerk from 22 sessions ago!!
(Forgot how to spell any other name..)

@murphy_the_punmaste: we've definitely talked about adding an arrow attack :)

@hydras: totally! this will be extra cool when combined with the polymorph feature

i really like this a lot, maybe you want to hide in a box for stealth, maybe you want to use a barrel to have more time underwater, maybe youd want to make a book suddenly come alive and start attacking, very cool and ripe with potential

Do glowing props retain lighting when changed to mini?

So far they do! We need to work out if that's the correct behaviour. But it might be

Great idea for a mage using a floating light crystal.  Silly mages.

Love this Feature! Something I feel could help improve it would be allowing multiple props meshed together, similar to how the copy and paste function sort of works now. Some Examples of this that I can Personally think of would be, having props placed in, making special enemies such as Treents, or crazier things such as custom made vehicles!

This will be awesome for Dancing Lights, especially if they retain their lighting :D

There could be a way to import the custom tokens created through the website https://www.heroforge.com
