TaleSpire Dev Log 347
Hey folks,
Just a quick update on things.
AOE is progressing roughly as expected. I got hung up on choosing the approach for pixel-picking. I think I know what I want now. It's going to use similar GPU culling to the tiles. Now I just need to write it
On the life side of things, my partner and I just found that the floor in one room of our new house is rotten, so we tore that up yesterday. That means I'll be popping AFK here and there to work on that. It's not looking too scary so far. Just glad to have caught it.
And then the news about One DND dropped! It's always fun to see new DND editions. Naturally, there have been questions around the community about how their future VTT affects TaleSpire.
Unfortunately for those looking for hot takes, our responses will probably be a bit boring as this doesn't change our plans at all.
We've always assumed this was coming sooner or later, and trying to infer anything from pre-alpha footage isn't fair. So, like you, we simply remain eager to see what they bring to the table a year and a half from now.
We will have plenty more in TaleSpire by then to compare!
Our backers and players put us in a truly enviable position; we get to make the game we dreamed of without being beholden to anyone else. We know how rare that is and are happily committed to keep making a beautiful place to play and build together, regardless of ruleset.
Alright, that's all for me for now. I'm off for a stroll.
Ciao!

·With the Modern and Sci-fi update we've got a great VTT for D&D, Pathfinder, Starfinder, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun and modern setting Call of Cthullu
If we later down road we get a Steampunk and Victorian update we'll have a great VTT for early 20th/late 10th Century Call of Cthullu and Blades in the Dark
