Ongoing Issue: TaleSpire may be temporarily blocked by some ISPs
Hi folks,
For some of you, TaleSpire is currently unreachable, and we are looking into why. For many, it seems that part of Xfinity (or a similar ISP) has flagged our server as suspicious and blocked it.
We are trying to find any leads we can, as the issue does not seem to be on our end.
Those affected have so far had success in unblocking `dicewillsuffice.live` from their provider's security panel or by using a VPN, but, of course, this is not a long-term solution.
We will be back with information as soon as we have any.
[Update] We have been looking into various online services that claim to award domains "threat ratings." On sites that have flagged us as a potential risk, we've been reaching out to hopefully prove that we are legitimate.
We've had some positive replies so far, and are hoping they start correcting the scores. We then have to hope that those new scores propagate to whatever auto-blocking tools the ISPs are using.
So far, we've heard from players that Xfinity's "CyberSecure" and Spectrum's "Security Shield" have defaulted to blocking us, but that players can unblocked us again. We are also hearing that some players using Tmobile, At&T, and Cox have been affected too.
Xfinity customers can report the mistake here. Also, folks using Spectrum's "Security Sheild" can report the issue here.
Please share your experiences below so we can get an idea of what ISPs and regions are affected and unaffected.
Thanks for the help, and sorry for all the stories that are being interrupted.
[Update] We are getting tentative reports from people that their ISPs are no longer blocking TaleSpire \o/ If you still have issues connecting, please reach out. We want to contact these providers to get this fixed.
