It's New Year, new devlog time! Due to the holiday break, there's less to report this time, but things are still moving.
Since my last devlog, I've continued with more QoL work, fixing small papercuts and spent some time debugging a few trickier bug reports we've received over the holiday period.
The debugging was also the motivation for one of the upcoming changes, which is a slight improvement on our logging data: We already were adding timestamps to some of our log messages, which is quite handy when trying to reconstruct what has happened for a bug to occur, but we weren't very consistent in which messages got timestamps and which didn't. In the upcoming update, more of them will have timestamps attached. Additionally, we added a way to make the logs even more verbose in case we need more detailed info on a bug than the default log gives us.
And since I'm already talking about "next release", what's the status on that? Well, we are thoroughly testing right now. There were a few builds we hoped could be ready that turned out to have some release-blocking bugs, but it's getting there! Most issues are fixed now, with only a macOS-specific problem left holding up the release[0].
