TaleSpire Dev Log 385
·Greetings Everyone!
There's not much to show visually this time, but I wanted to send out a minor update regardless.
I'm still running high from the Ship Set release. Seeing all the beautiful creations posted on Discord has been an absolute joy. After that Bug Patch last week, I've been helping with Symbiotes's UI code. I am getting it hooked up with an opt-in under Settings and a list for selecting which Symbiotes to run. This update also comes with changes to the History(Chat) Panel to accommodate messages from external sources, such as Symbiotes. That makes injecting messages into history possible while displaying queues it was created externally.
It feels like Symbiotes is coming together well. I'll leave it to the dev team to announce when and where.
Experimental Sequencer, etc:
Once UI work is done on Symbiotes, I will focus on getting the experimental version of the Sequencer. I've done more work on it recently to integrate it into the game. Making sure it can Open up and Close without the UI going insane. The video created for the Ship release was a good test case to see what a minimum experimental feature needs. And beside some camera issues and easy ways to move miniatures around, the main functionality works. It is not meant to be production-ready, but there is value here for people who want to make videos inside TaleSpire.
Other things on the horizon for me are still getting those new Status Effects in-game (hoping to rope in some help) and an ongoing project, the Hero Creator.
17th of May
Final note! It is still "Bank Holiday" season here in Norway, with Wednesday being our Constitution Day and Thursday, Ascension Day.
As a result, we'll be in and out a bit this week.
Thanks for reading! Have a good week, everyone!

·Failing that, I have another plan. I will run 2 computers, one for me, and one to stream for the players, so that I have complete control of the camera. Of course this means that you will lose 17 sales. And it means I have to travel everywhere with 2 computers, which is terrible for my lifestyle (and no, I can't run 2 instances on 1 computer, because my boards are so big they need the full power of my 3080 laptop to run smoothly).
And can we also get the mini limit bumped to 1000 or more? 2000 would be good because I want entire towns full of NPCs. I can easily run 600 minis on my 3080. Why hobble me just because other people don't have a 3080?
Everything I try to do with this product, I feel hobbled by developers who don't care about Game Masters. I feel like I have to fight you and your intentions every step of the way to get this thing working for me. And I HAVE been fighting you on and off for months now. Meanwhile, I just want to play and enjoy this thing with my friends. But it has to be done right, and right means in a way that doesn't kill the drama of roleplaying.
